Food review: Mama Kim Kuala Ibai

Welcome back eaters! Another day, another entry. I just came back from
a long holiday in Terengganu. My semester break was fun. I went to Perhentian
Island with my friends! I bet you could smell salt fishes now hehe. Well, island
hopping was fun as well as food hunting too. Guess where I have been? Definitely,
the well-known Mama Kim at Kuala Ibai. Just a short disclaimer, this entry will be a little
bit different from the others because I will be reviewing about Chinese food. Guys, let me
tell you one thing. I do not like Chinese food. I LOVE Chinese food. Basically, Mama Kim is
a Chinese-cuisine restaurant near Kuala Ibai. It serves healthy foods ranging from noodles
to rice to hot pot soup and steamed vegetables. Stop expecting fast food because you could
not have it here. Even the beverages are free from sugar (sounds so healthy). My first impression
about this restaurant was I could not be satisfied enough with the interior design and the perfect
ambience of light provided which gave me some kind of 5-star hotel vibe ehe!

Anyway, I ordered their seafood wonton noodle and added on steamed enoki mushroom.
My other friends ordered their brown rice with grilled chicken topped with mozzarella cheese.
I could not be more satisfied with the portion. It was more than enough! The noodles came with
generous boiled seafood like mussels, salmon fillet and shrimps. The soup was thick and a tinge
of seafood broth mixed together with springy wanton noodles. Moreover, you could also ask for
add-ons on the menu such as steamed vegetables such as pak choy and enoki mushrooms. If you
don't prefer steamed food, you may also ask the waiter to stir-fry your vegetables. Not to forget, I
tried their fruit tea which replenished my crave for something sweet but also healthy at the same
time. Fruits like apple, orange and grapes are brewed together with the tea to add zesty infusion.
Overall, the dish was rated 8 over 10. In terms of the price, RM 16 for a plate of wanton including
the add-ons with such portions to me was a good bargain. I would love to come back for more.
Go try it for yourself!
